I saw Alex again

I saw Alex again today.

And somehow… we ended up going on a coffee date, which still feels a little unreal to say 😅

We met up at this small coffee shop—nothing fancy, just one of those places that feels calm the second you walk in. I got there a little early (of course), mostly so I could settle in and not feel rushed.

Alex showed up with staff. That part didn’t feel strange to me—just different. They stayed nearby and gave him space, and honestly it just seemed like part of his routine. He was comfortable, which made it easy for me to be comfortable too.

I don’t have staff. I kind of do things on my own and figure things out as I go. So I think we came into it from different places in that way. But once we sat down, none of that really mattered.

We ordered coffee—nothing complicated—and just started talking.

And again… it was easy.

No pressure, no awkward pauses that felt heavy. Even the quiet moments were fine, like we didn’t have to fill every second with words.

We talked about random things at first, then a little more about ourselves. Nothing too deep, but enough to feel like it wasn’t just surface-level either.

I didn’t feel like I had to explain how I communicate or adjust myself to be understood. And he didn’t seem like he was trying to be anything other than who he was.

That stood out to me.

At one point, I realized I wasn’t checking the time—which I always do—but not this time.

It just felt… normal. In a good way.

When we left, there wasn’t some big moment or dramatic goodbye. Just a simple “I had a good time” that actually felt real.

And I did.

I don’t know what happens next. But for now, I can say this: I saw Alex again, we had coffee, and it was a really good kind of different.
